Lindsley Excavating provides driveway excavation, aggregate placement, grading and asphalt paving for homes, farms and private properties. We review the driveway's intended use, existing ground, access and drainage so the estimate describes the complete construction scope.
Send the desired travel width and length, plus turnarounds, parking areas and widened entrances. Include expected delivery trucks, trailers, farm equipment or motorhome use. Vehicle size and use affect the information needed from the design; a generic surface thickness should not be treated as a load guarantee. If you already have a specified section, include it unchanged with your request.
New construction may include clearing, stripping, excavation, geotextile where specified, aggregate placement and drainage. Replacing an existing asphalt surface may involve a different amount of excavation and base work. Gravel maintenance, widening and a complete rebuild should each have defined limits. Mark the areas that remain so the estimate does not assume removal of the whole drive.
Photos after rain can reveal low areas, ditch problems or water crossing the entrance. Include any culvert and outlet details with the driveway plan. Finished grades and surface shape need to work with the building, roadside entrance and neighboring ground. Drainage corrections and any required design or entrance coordination should be resolved as part of the scope.
Ask each estimate to identify excavation depth, material type and thickness, disposal or on-site spoil placement, compaction requirements and final surface. For asphalt, confirm whether the price includes the base work and all specified paving courses. For gravel, identify the finished aggregate and whether the work is a new structural section or a surface refresh. These differences often explain prices that otherwise look difficult to compare.

For your estimate
It can be considered if an appropriate placement area is identified and the project requirements allow it. Include the location and the final grading expected in that area.
That sequence can be reviewed. The estimate should define the initial base, temporary use and any regrading or additional preparation needed before later paving.
New concrete and landscaping are separate unless specifically included. Requested topsoil restoration can be identified as its own scope.
