Excavation and grading establish the elevations, bearing areas and drainage paths that the rest of a project depends on. Lindsley handles cut and fill, subgrade preparation, backfill, aggregate placement and finish grading for commercial and private construction in Central New York.
Existing and proposed contours help define cut, fill and haul quantities. Topsoil stripping, unsuitable material, imported structural fill and rock should be identified separately. If there is no survey or soil report, describe what is known and ask for a site review before treating a preliminary allowance as a fixed quantity.
Fill type, lift thickness and acceptance testing should follow the project specifications and the geotechnical recommendations. Share the required testing responsibilities before pricing. A visibly firm surface alone does not establish compliance with a specified density or bearing requirement.
The finished surface must work with doors, pavement, drainage structures and surrounding property. Send spot elevations and outlet information when available. For property corrections, photos during and after rain help show where water collects and which areas need a closer review.
