A wet parking area, a blocked culvert and water collecting near a foundation may have different causes. Useful information includes photos taken during rain, the location of existing structures and the elevations of potential outlets. The project may call for maintenance, regrading, replacement piping or an engineered system.
Pipe size and depth are only part of the work. Inlets, outlets, bedding, trench backfill, erosion protection and surface restoration all affect the estimate. If the work crosses an entrance or existing utility, identify the access and coordination requirements in the invitation.
For a pond, basin or stormwater improvement, send the approved grading details, outlet design, soil information and access route. Excavation, spoil handling and final stabilization need defined limits. Design, approvals and any work outside the authorized limits are confirmed separately before construction.
